My 12th gen fw looks more like a Boeing 747. It sounds veery loud, and it´s quite annoying when in libraries or in my coworking space when people are quiet.
I work with Unity Engine for 2D environments, which shouldn't be as demanding as working with 3D/Physics etc... Usually the laptop is silent till I open spotify plus a couple of browser tabs, then party starts...
Honestly the CPU/RAM/GPU usage at that time shouldn't be enough to trigger such a violent ignition😅
Any W11 user that have any tool to manage fan speeds / ignition threshold (temperature)?
**EDIT :
My Solution
Disabling Intel Turbo Boost + Setting a Balanced plan worked quite well for me.
Fans haven't even got triggered even with all this workload:
Using Unity Engine + VS Code with Copilot (many tabs opened) + ~5 MS Edge tabs opened + Spotify + Discord + PureVPN.
Also, monitored the temperature and very punctual spikes in ~75ºC, but generally at ~50ºC.
Extra: I use a laptop riser holder, which presumably should help a bit with thermals

How can I force max fan speed on my laptop? it's overheating and fans are quiet...
Please check your fan isn't full of dust as this is a huge problem for laptops, also try this:
Select "Control Panel" from the Start menu.
Click “Hardware and Sound,” and then “Power Options.” A new window opens.
Click “Change Plan Settings,” and then “Change Advanced Power Settings.” The “Power Options” dialog box opens.
Select the “Advanced Settings” tab.
Click the plus symbol associated with “Processor Power Management” to open an options submenu.
Select “System Cooling Policy” from the submenu.
Click the down arrow under “System Cooling Policy” to reveal a drop-down menu.
Select “Active” from the drop-down menu to increase the speed of your CPU’s cooling fan.
Click “Apply” and then “OK.”
Hope it helps.
