They will connect just like any Bluetooth pair of head phones. I connect my AirPods Pro with my Nintendo Switch. I don’t know if ALL of the AirPods Pro features would work with Android. I believe the transparency mode and noise cancellation is on by default and doesn’t matter what device you’re paired to. But I’m not sure they’ll do the ‘head tracking’ for spatial audio (surround sound/Dolby Atmos) or the automatic eq adjustment. (I’m just assuming, I could be wrong). I’d say pull the trigger and buy them. Just buy them from somewhere you can return them should you decide not to keep them. I absolutely love mine, but I do use them with iPhone. More on reddit.com

They will connect and you’ll be able to use ANC and transparency like normal via the stem of the Airpods. There are 3rd party apps that make it possible via the phone itself. You will not be able to use the Spatial audio feature without one of those 3rd party apps on android.

You don't need an iOS device to set them up. Just put them into pairing mode and your android phone will see them. My current pair of Air Pods Pro were purchased brand new from Best Buy and were never connected to any iOS devices before I connected them to my Android phone.

Never connect the Airpods to an iOS device. It will upgrade the firmware and make them useless with Androids. I made that mistake and now my airpods are useless with my pixel phone. Before that it worked perfectly, no issues.
