Tutorial: How to repair a leather office chair armrest – Sensible Sustainability

(Even though I got this jacket specifically to repair the chair, I did hesitate for a solid 5 minutes before going to town with scissors – it was a really nice jacket!)

Have the same issue. You will need to buy some foam and faux leather. Remove the armrest from the chair (2-3 screws on the bottom). Flip it over and remove the staples. Use this piece of leather as a template to cut the new piece. Replace the foam. You can use the foam from the other side as a template. Use spray glue to hold the foam in place. You should take a pic of the steps as you disassemble. You will need a furniture staple gun to put it all back together.

If you don't care how it looks, then just black Duct tape? Or contact Cement and a vinyl patch? If looks matter, I'd see if you can just swap the whole pad (I can't see how the gel is secured exactly), or even swap the entire arm.
