I need help flashing the Bios on my Asus Z790 mobo

Visit the Asus website and download the latest stable BIOS update for your specific motherboard model. Make sure it's the correct version (at least 1202) Get a USB and format it. Make sure it’s empty! Copy the downloaded BIOS update file to the root directory of the USB drive. Lookup your motherboard to located the BIOS flashback port and button Insert the USB drive into the BIOS Flashback USB port. Then, press and hold the BIOS Flashback button on your motherboard for a few seconds (refer to your manual for the exact duration). This initiates the BIOS update process. Wait until the led light stops flashing, once the led remains steady it means the update is complete Power off your motherboard You can now install your CPU Reassemble your system, connect all components, and power it on. Correct BIOS upgrade instructions for Z790 motherboard

I was able to update the BIOS without blowing up my computer tonight. Downloaded latest BIOS (FJe) from: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-AORUS-ELITE-AX-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios Formatted my USB stick with FAT32. Extracted ZIP contents to that USB stick. Rebooted into BIOS. Inserted the USB stick into my front USB port and went to Q-Flash menu. Pointed to the file and then it started verifying and installing it. When it went to reboot, I took out the USB stick and watched it cycle through a few reboots until it was done. More on reddit.com

In the current BIOS, it says it's the 'Z790 AORUS ELITE AX' with BIOS version Fld.

What's the correct URL for the firmware? Their website is so confusing with the different models.

Where are the correct instructions to upgrade? Do I need to use the USB port in the back?

In the left-under corner of your motherboard you find the correct revision number printed so you can be sure you get the right BIOS version for your motherboard.
