I'd like to repurpose the All-in-one chassis. It's got a 24" touch screen and there's a member of the family who has a special need for the touch screen and who might struggle to get to know a new and unfamiliar machine. We're using it for web browsing, and Microsoft Office, primarily, I'm not trying to build a gaming monster, just trying to bring it into this decade.

It runs on Windows 10 and is coming to the end of it's usable life.

I believe I need to replace the:

Processor which is an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.00 GHz

Installed RAM 8.00 GB (6.93 GB usable)

I've looked at what the current product category equivalent is from HP and it's probably the HP Envy Move All-in-One 24-cs0019 All-in-One PC which runs on Windows 11 and has

Processor: Intel® Core™ i3 1315U (13th Generation)

Memory 16 GB RAM

but I've never explored the inside of an All-in-one and I expect I'll encounter at minimum a more difficult space to work in than a standard PC tower. Please if anyone with experience with this kind of thing can tell me if this is going to be practical or if there's some tricky quirks I'm bound to run into, I'd really value any expertise you might share.

I installed macOS 13.7.7 on my HP 24-r019, and overall, it works pretty well. I even got the touchscreen to work! I don't think the Wi-Fi card is supported, so I connected to the internet via USB tethering with a phone. Bluetooth works, though.

I bought a HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-r124 for $100 off Facebook Marketplace a few years ago and it’s treated me great. I’ve had some moments of freezing up on YouTube videos and random blue screens that clear up after a restart but it’s served me great through college (Microsoft word, Microsoft 360, Presentations, Outlook, Web) and for work (Web, Email, Files) and I’m looking to upgrade to a similar, newer model All-in-one pc. I love the easy simple plug-ins in the back of the pc and the sleek design of this pc as well. I’m a console gamer but I play small games like osrs & rotmg on my pc. These are not very demanding games. I’d like to be able to run higher demanding games on my pc like CS2 or something similar with at least graphic settings above lowest quality possible with some okay fps but again this is not extremely important. Budget is 100-300 dollars. I will buy second-hand or refurbished from ebay or etc if possible. My HP pc has a few cracks in the screen and it’s been something I can look over these past few years but I’d like to upgrade.
