Finnala sleeper sofa - Gunnared fabric vs Tallmyra?
Anyone have the Finnala sleeper sofa with chaise? Thoughts on comfort, durability of both the sleeper and the sofa?
Finnala Sleeper Sofa - Missing Seat Cushion - Store doesn't have it
Your best bet is to make one. Order foam and batting.... Ikea doesn't sell replacements, unfortunately.

I think I’m planning to replace my dearly departed Nockeby couch with a Finnala sleeper sofa. I’m trying to figure out if I should get the Finnala in Tallmyra gray/black fabric, or if I should choose Gunnared medium gray. My considerations beyond aesthetics are:
-
durability over time with cats and kids
-
stain hiding
-
any difference in structure for the cushions
-
tendency to fade in sunlight
My last couch had Tallmyra fabric in rust, and I give it like a B/B-. It was extremely soft and comfortable, but it didn’t do anything to keep the cushions from getting saggy, and it faded a lot from sun in 6 years. It was OK at hiding stains but not perfect, especially after it faded. I like the fact that Gunnared is a tighter weave so it might retain more structure, and it would look better with my decor - but I’m worried it will show stains and/or cat scratches worse, or if it would be as durable since it’s so much thinner, and I don’t know if it will fade too.
Please let me know your advice, and if you have experience with these fabrics or this couch! Thanks!
Wondering if anyone has the Finnala sleeper sofa with the chaise and can share the good, the bad and the ugly. Hoping to use it for my teen hangout, so not my primary sofa, but would still like it to be comfortable and hold up against teenage boys as well as the occasional overnight guest. TIA!
