Have you asked your work if they would get a corporate purchasing card for you? This would be the best option if this is going to be a regular occurrence. I personally wouldn't want to be liable for a company expense with my own card as expense repayment policies can be a ballache and you can lose out if they move the goalposts but I am risk averse. All credit cards build credit the same exact way. If you are getting denied for cards you're applying for, you're shooting for products that are beyond the grasp of your current credit profile. Within the letters you receive following your denials, what reasons have been provided to you? Have you checked the pre approval sites for both Capital One and Discover yet? Both of them are understanding and accepting of weaker credit profiles. Outside of them, I'd look to a secured credit card. Something like the US Bank Altitude Go Secured would be a great play.
