Making my first PC and I had originally looked at Passmark to find good CPUs. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265K and KF both scored very well and cost in the ~350 USD range. Tomshardware also seems to be ranking them very well in both single and multi-threaded.
The problem is that the YT videos I'm finding on the whole series are saying they're bad whereas the benchmark sites I'm seeing are saying its good.
I'll be using this for software development (possibly working with large data sets) as well as casual FPS gaming (think 75 hertz monitor type casual).
My first draft for parts rn is:
Intel Core Ultra 7 265k 3.9 GHz 20-Core Processor
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler
ASRock B860 Pro-A ATX LGA1851 Motherboard
TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
Inland QN450 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
XFX GTS XXX Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card (I know it's pretty cheap compared to the CPU; not sure if I should go for better or if this will be fine)
Antec NX100 ATX Mid Tower Case
Apevia Galaxy 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
Pcpartpicker says this is 554W and $990.21. My budget is $1000 but I don't mind going a bit over that.
So should I switch out the CPU for something else or do you guys think this will be fine?
