Assuming not a branded PC did you update all drivers from that mobo maker?

Have you run the sfc/dism process?

Did W10's safe mode do something to fix its very slow boot up during normal boot?
It basically got stuck during the Intel(C) NUC text screen for that long and then finally gave up and went to W10's recovery blue screen with options (http://imgur.com/a/0BfYdUk for a couple blurry photos from my iPhone 4S). I pressed the keyboard's Esc key and went to its recovery's safe mode. More on learn.microsoft.com

Video Issue on NUC
It reads a little similar to my broken NUC 7i7DNKE. Mine freezes as soon as it tries to wake from sleep mode. Power LED indicates a running system, fan makes noise but machine is locked up. The NUC works perfectly fine with every other task I throw at it. https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-NUCs/NUC7i7DNKE-sleep-of-death/m-p/1417329 More on reddit.com

Intel NUC boot looping - Geekzone
September 1, 2014 - Can't find anything on Intel website. Found one forum post somewhere that said hold in the power button for 3 secs, but that doesn't work either. Anybody have any suggestions? Cheers ... Tapping F8 for the configuration boot menu? (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-nz/windows/start-computer-safe-mode) Maybe that will not work due to the deep freeze.

r/intelnuc on Reddit: Video Issue on NUC
October 1, 2022 -

Sorry in advance for the long post - I don't think the NUC can be fixed, just looking to hear what others think the issue is.

I have a NUC8i3BEK which I was using as a headless remote access Windows 11 PRO workstation.

It was configured to auto-start on power fail, which happens from time to time, and is connected to a surge suppressor.

One day I couldn't remote in, so went to visit the NUC and power-cycled it, which usually fixes any issues. Still could not remote in, but the power light was on. Connected a monitor to the NUC and...nothing - monitor acted like nothing was connected. So, I power cycled again, saw the INTEL NUC startup screen, the spinning Windows wheel, then the monitor went into sleep mode, like the video was disconnected. I tried to remote in again, and nothing, so I was pretty sure it wasn't just a video output issue where the NUC was actually running but had no video out. Power light on the NUC stays on the entire time.

I then I tried the following:

- Boot into Safe Mode, which worked. Tried to RESET the computer, thinking maybe a corrupted driver or something. On reinstall of Windows 11, reached the SELECT A KEYBOARD LAYOUT and the monitor went to sleep again (using a different monitor this time).

- Figured maybe a bad SSD, so replaced the SSD and tried to install Windows 11 again, via USB this time. Same issue, though at the point where I'm creating a user account during setup.

- Figured maybe bad RAM, so replaced the RAM and tried to install Windows 11 again. Same issue, around the same point.

- Maybe a BIOS issue? I am able to boot into the BIOS with no issues, so applied the latest BIOS without any problems. All BIOS settings look normal, fans, etc. Also reset BIOS to DEFAULT settings. Still cannot boot into Windows 11.

- Maybe a Windows 11 issue? Created a Windows 10 To Go USB drive and tried to boot into that. Same issue. Monitor goes to sleep after spinning Windows wheel.

- Maybe Windows issue? Created a bootable USB Ubuntu drive. Monitor goes to sleep right before the desktop appears. HOWEVER, similar to Windows Safe Mode, I CAN boot into Ubuntu SAFE GRAPHICS MODE with no issues. Runs 1080p and everything looks OK.

As I mentioned, at this point, I figure it's a lost cause and will take out the SSD and RAM and toss the NUC, but I'm curious if anyone has any idea what the issue is.

My best guess is that during a power outage something in the video chip went physically bad - maybe bad video RAM?

Thanks for reading, if you made it this far.

r/intelnuc on Reddit: Windows will not boot on Hades Canyon!
June 17, 2020 -

The culprit: SSL 2+ thunderbolt audio interface.

everything was going fine until i started playing with ssl 2+ and asio and the latency settings. windows froze hard and after i finally got all the programs closed, i attemted to shut down windows.... and it just would not. stalled in spin mode for several several minutes.

i was forced to hard shut down via the power button.

now windows will not start up. i get this message...."bios has detected unsuccessful POST attempts. possible causes include recent changes to bios performance options or recent hardware change. press Y to enter setup or N to cancel and attempt to boot with previous settings."

i tried loading defaults from setup. that didnt work.

I turned off thunderbolt and audio settings via Setup. Even though nothing changed when I tried to booth after unplugging the audio interface. that also didn't work.

Please help me.
