Hey fellow Redditors,
I've been seeing that in China, there are repair shops offering the service of upgrading iPhone XR storage from 64GB to 256GB for around 60 USD. This sounds like an incredible deal considering the significant storage boost. I'm wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this service or knows about the feasibility of doing it yourself?
I'm especially curious about whether there are any sequences or steps that need to be followed for a successful upgrade. Are there any risks involved that I should be aware of? I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this process or knows someone who has.
Your insights and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge and experiences. 📱✨
Guys I need help
I already called like 5 repair shop in my area and nobody knows why or how is it possible that my iPhone 12 motherboard had 128gb (i bought the phone broken and i saw it with my eyes that was 128gb before swapping chassis and reassembling. i even checked imei and says 128/256gb) and now shows 64gb.
my hypothesis are:
-
i have touched something on the motherboard reassembling and broke something
-
the vendor somehow tricked the system into thinking it was 128 (still, why imei shows 128gb?)
what can I do now?
a shop offered me to send it to their assistance which take 15-30 days to check it out and give a quote for the work. just for diagnosis is 35 euros. is it worth it? How much would they probably ask for a microsoldering of this type? (I'm from Italy)
anyway I want to gift this iphone to my brother for his birthday, he has an SE2, so it doesnt really matter to him if its 64 or 128 because it already is a nice upgrade.
Just I cant understand why this happened and I would honestly prefer give him a 128gb mobile
Hey All,
I've got an iPhone XR with the base 64GB storage, and I've been considering upgrading it to 256GB. In China, many repair shops offer this service for around 60 USD, which seems like a great deal compared to purchasing a new phone.
Has anyone here had experience with upgrading their iPhone's storage in a similar manner? Are there any specific sequences or steps I should be aware of? I'm a bit hesitant about tinkering with my phone, but the extra storage space would be a game-changer for me.
It's fascinating how this service is more accessible in China, and I'm wondering if any users from other parts of the world have managed to get this done reliably and at a reasonable cost. Please share your stories, advice, and any potential risks I should consider before taking the plunge.
Looking forward to hearing from the community! Thanks in advance for your insights. 📱💾
