Is LastPass Free enough?

If you're only looking to save your passwords on one device, then LastPass Free will likely be enough for you. But if you want to save passwords across devices, like between your computer and phone, for example, then the Premium version will be much more convenient for you.

r/Lastpass on Reddit: Premium versus Free Versions
February 12, 2023 -

I've been using Last Pass free version for years, and mostly like it. Looking at the 'sales material' that I receive occasionally from them, I can see some advantages to paying for the premium version, such as the Security Dashboard.

But looking at the examples shown, as well as reading online material about password managers in general, it seems that the premium version is really geared towards using on a smartphone for the most part. Does anyone have an opinion about using premium ONLY on a Windows PC? I very rarely use our smartphone for anything that requires a password. Thanks!

LastPass Review 2025: Big Changes For Free Users
LastPass is an easy-to-use and inexpensive password manager that ticks all the boxes, so long as you’re willing to pay for a Premium or Families subscription. The March 2021 update to LastPass significantly reduced the usefulness of its free version, as free users can now use the password manager on only a single device type (either desktops or mobile devices).

LastPass Free vs. Premium: Compare Password Managers | Password Manager
February 16, 2021 - This is a severe limitation, as you’ll have to choose between using it on desktop or mobile — not both. The premium version also adds in some quality-of-life improvements (including encrypted file storage, emergency access, and better customer support), making it an attractive option and (in my opinion) well worth the cost. Still, I find the value of LastPass’s free tier better if you are looking for password management basics at no cost.
