He was a guest at the Sacramento show on The Search for Everything tour. Sitting next to me were a couple of Deadheads who came hoping John would sing some of their songs. I was so excited for them that Bob Weir came on. They were freaking out! I’m not all that familiar with Grateful Dead songs so it was nice to share that moment with them as they were happy for me when John sang my favorite song. RIP Bob. You and John brought so many people together ❤️

‘The last actual hippie’: musicians pay tribute to Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir | Grateful Dead | The Guardian
2 days ago - “Bobby was completely allergic to compliments in the most endearing way,” Anastasio added on social media. “I’d say, ‘Man, that guitar riff you were doing on that song sounded really killer’ and he’d respond, ‘Well, I’m sure I’ll fuck it up next time.’ I loved that about him.” · Anastasio was among the musicians to open for – and sit in with – Dead & Company, a band featuring Weir and the guitarist John Mayer, during their final shows last August in San Francisco.

Revisit Bob Weir & John Mayer's First Jam Session: 'The Late Late Show' In 2015 [Video]
October 16, 2025 - Both Bob Weir and John Mayer celebrate their birthday today, October 16th. These days, most music fans still wouldn’t think twice about naming the two musicians in the same breath. But for ten years, the two have been the unlikely pair at the core of Dead & Company, the arena- and stadium-scale, latter-day spinoff of Weir’s iconic Grateful Dead.

We all knew the day would come we would open our phones to the news of Bob’s passing, but I’ve got to say it still hurts. Rest in peace to an absolute legend that impacted so many lives in no ways but positive. Take some of that joy he gave you and reflect it back up at him.
I know it’s early to be thinking about this but I can’t help but wonder how I’d feel about Dead & Co performing again. I’m torn and just curious what some of you think. What would make you want or not want to see it?
The only thing I can think of is if maybe Bill were to join the band for a final set of shows, maybe even just as a tribute to Bob and all the other members who have passed on.
