This one makes me so annoyed.
I argue that the upsides of having the numpad on the left of the keyboard far outweigh it being on the right. For context, I generally use a tenkeyless keyboard with a separate numpad on the left. Lets look at some scenarios:
-You're typing. Two hands on the keyboard. It is equally convenient to reach it on the left or right. However, it is quicker to have it on the left since you don't have to reach over the arrow keys.
-You need to enter just numbers. One hand is on the mouse, the other on your home row or WASD. ***WHY*** should you have to take your hand off of the mouse to type numbers? It makes no sense and its so much slower.
-You're gaming, and want to use your numpad for macros. Forget about it. You have to take your hand off the mouse. If it were on the left, you could access it more quickly, even reaching a pinky over. This also applies to video editing. If you use Premiere like I do, you probably need shortcuts. The numpad is perfect for this, but only if its on the left side. When I edit, I rest my hand on the numpad entirely. This couldn't be done if it was on the right.
Another point: Having it on the left allows you to have your hands closer together, which is more ergonomic and comfortable.
I understand its better for left handed people, but most of us are right handed, so most keyboards should be too.
I am very passionate about this topic for no reason. Convince me that this isn't completely stupid.

You have all these keyboard manufacturers competing to make products better than the others. So here's a good tip. Put your numpad on the LEFT side of the keyboard. NO ONE does this.
I don't know who needs their left hand while using their right hand for the numpad.
Whether I pay bills, enter numbers into excel sheets or whatever my left hand is always idle on the left side of the keyboard while my right hand gotta jump forth n back between the mouse and the numpad.
Select the right box/window/whatever with mouse cursor, move hand over to numpad, type in whatever numbers, move back to mouse to select next thing, repeat.
As an fps gamer I can also say I would LOVE to have that space the numpad is occupying for more mouse space. As an MMO player I can also say I would LOVE to have that numpad close to my wasd movement keys for extra not too far to reach potential keybind.
And again, as someone who uses excel and spreadsheets a lot for work I can definitely say I'd love to be able to use my LEFT hand for the numpad with the RIGHT hand moving the cursor around.
Thoughts? Feel free to use the poll to get some numbers in on what people would actually prefer.
EDIT: Apparently I need to add that Im not looking for makeshift solutions, buying additional standalone equipment and yadida. Neither am I looking for ways to avoid using logitech products on the logitech redditforum...
And I'd love to hear from the people who prefer numpad on the right side of the keyboard as to why that is. I am genuinly curious how people make use of that setup, maybe Im missing something. And to whoever downvotes this post.. why? How is this a bad idea? Or did you just wake up today and decide to be a cunt?
