I was looking for an i7 laptop with decent specs to do heavy spreadsheets and general SEO work on. I also like to dabble in games, whilst I say games, I mean exclusively Planet Zoo (I know, stand back, I am very cool).
I also like a premium feel. My partner has a HP Spectre 360 and for work I have a Dell XPS 16 inch with top specs (Due to work bloatwear I just dont want to use it at home anymore, especially for side hustle). They are both so nice but SO pricey.

For more idea, check out this datasheet of laptops . It lists all the latest laptops i.e laptops with current-gen i7 hardware. Look at the CPU column and the corresponding passmark score to see that not all i7s are equal. You can choose a laptop based on your budget and preference.

My Yoga 9i 14 Gen 7 with i7-1260P performed double than this. Real shame they couldn't fit that CPU into the Spectre 13.5. Had they made it true 14 inch 16:10 and they would had probably pulled it off easily.

To those who know, is it really true that an i7 processor is bad for a gaming laptop? I heard from a friend of a friend that knows about laptops that i7 processors make the gaming laptop overheat and run bad or something like that, is it true?

No. A 4 core i7 like the 11370h can be a bottleneck in some systems, and Ryzen is more power efficient and generally better on the heat side of things, but i7 performance in gaming is pretty awesome. If the laptop has bad cooling then sure, it can overheat and get throttled, but that's usually due to poor laptop build/design than cpu choice.
