I really want to start investing in a few LC pieces but there are no le creuset outlets in Canada (to the best of my knowledge)

Fortunately I live pretty close to the US border and was considering driving into Washington state to go to an outlet. However, it is a 1.5-2hr drive one way so I’m wondering if it is worth the trip down.

I got my first piece, a first quality, 3.5 quart braiser at more than half off in the outlet. You do need to keep in mind that the outlets stock the Classic line, and the website stocks the Signature line. So there are some stylistic differences and not all colors will be the same.

I've saved 30-40% off at outlets before.

I must give a shout out to the lovely ladies who helped me today at the Chicago Rosemont outlet! I had never been there before and they fed my curiosity and helped beyond beyond!

I bought this for myself and snagged one in shallot for my sister’s new kitchen! Great deals also on baking casserole sets!

I love Licorice! I have a couple pots this color…I changed out the knobs to gokd ones to match my kitchen and they look awesome! Is this the Sauteuse?

Hi all! There is an outlet LeCreuset store 1 hour drive away from home. I have never been there, and wondering if anyone purchases from such stores. I understand product availability will differ with each location.

I think it’s worth it to explore, shop and make a connection. The outlet associates can be invaluable when looking for a specific piece and I’ve been hooked up on the price before. I like to shop though. Maybe you don’t?

I live an hour from the Signature Conroe store and an hour (in a different direction) from the Cypress Outlet. I prefer the outlet! It’s an adventure and you never know what they’ll have. Now, if you have something specific in mind, maybe not. But if you’re up for a good deal, go for it.

I am new to the Le Creuset world and looking to buy my first piece. I have 2 outlet stores near me so yesterday I shopped around to see what would be the best fit for my household. I usually cook for 3 people but do like to host so thinking something within the 4-5 people range. Initially I thought about a brasier, but a Dutch oven would be nice for soup/stew. The sales associate then pointed me to the wide oven. I think the wide oven would be a good option, but I wasn’t ecstatic about the classic vs signature. In the back of the picture you can see they had 2 signatures, each at $258, while the classic is $232. The sales associate wouldn’t look for other colors at other outlets but I’m curious if there are any employees here who would look in the system? Located in the DMV area current but know outlets will ship if you ask them to.

The Round Wide dutch oven is my favorite. I personally prefer the larger handles of the Signature line versus the Classic, and if you want to use the Classic in the oven, you need to upgrade the knob to a metal one. That alone justifies the price difference to just buy the Signature one, if you can.

Yeah, whoever that was at the outlet, was being selfish. They absolutely CAN check the system for stock at other stores, but in doing so they may lose that sale (although arguably they may gain a loyal customer in return). I'll PM you some other outlets' info - there are several managers who I especially enjoy shopping with, and the outlets are able to send a payment link via email for phone orders, so it's totally secure.

I’ve had bad experiences buying shoes from outlet stores and clothes with their being manufacturing errors or things they don’t meet QA testing is it the same with Le Creuset?

We have an outlet mall in town with a le creuset store and my girlfriend loves the green cookware.

Yes. The outlet stores USED to have a difference between signature and classic/traditional line. They were different handles (smaller vs larger) and came with the black knobs vs the metal knobs. This does not affect performance unless you need the metal knobs for higher oven temps. But knobs are easily purchased and swapped. Now, the outlet will have a table of "seconds". This is second choix foods that did not last the quality check in terms of VISUAL/COSMETIC imperfections. This does not affect the quality of the cookware. Usually it's a paint transfer flaw. The outlets also will have the same specials. There are usually 1-2 pieces that are on sale at every LC retailer. Right now I believe it's the sauteuse and the 6.75 wide round. What the outlet specializes in is discontinued pieces and colors. Whether it's sizes of colors. My local outlet rep said they stopped making the classic line anyways. There are still pieces there but they are focusing on just the signature line as a whole company. You might be able to find some olive, kiwi, or bamboo (all fun hard to find greens!)

I have noticed a difference in quality for some items.

I stopped by the outlet to see what they have on sale today. The entire store is 35% but a lot of 40% and 50% off. Do you see anything you would buy? I picked up the Cerise and Marseille batter bowls for $26 each.

How do outlet prices compare to purchasing directly from LeCreuset (besides just saving shipping, of course)?

I’d like to buy a pumpkin cocotte in Rhône when it comes out this fall, and I’m wondering if there would be any advantage (aka discount 😅) from me buying from an outlet, as long as they have Rhône in stock, of course. Also would anyone here have any specific experience with the outlets in the Philadelphia area?

You can ask. Usually if it’s not on sale at the outlet, you’re not going to be able to get it at a discount if you order from them. It depends on what sale they are running. A lot of the time, especially desirable pieces are not on sale. Think petal braiser, pumpkins, flamme doree pieces, etc.

So I was actually just at the outlet yesterday and for items that were not on sale, they did let slip that their specific outlet mall offered a coupon that COULD be used on regularly priced items. This was specific to the mall in Wrentham, MA but could apply to other outlets that are attached to wider outlet malls. They said you sign up directly with the mall to receive their coupons. Happy pumpkin hunting, I’ll be joining you shortly.

November 1, 2024 - If I remember correctly. They are slowly phasing out the classic line and it's just going to be the signature line at outlets. Where the outlets shine will be discontinued pieces(colors and pieces) as well as a table of seconds choix.

I'm going to the outlet to get a dutch oven. I was wondering what else should I get that's highly recommended?

It depends entirely on what you actually need and how you cook. If you're already going for a dutch oven, maybe a braiser or everyday pan?

If you can, snap a couple pictures, please. I love to see what the outlets in other places have! I would say a braiser, if they have a good deal on a color you like. I’d also suggest checking Wayfair. They are still having some incredible deals for members. The savings more than make up for the cost of the membership. Like this wide round that I should just buy, but still haven’t… yet.

Yes, there are typically about 3 per year and they are in different locations. Locations are announced about 2 months before the event. I’m also in the Midwest and missed Minneapolis so hoping another one comes this way!

I keep hoping for one in New Orleans!

So I’m a Canadian and every time I travel to the US I try and stop at an outlet store. They don’t carry the same things as what I can see online from the LC.com site. Are there any shops that do?

They have some LC signature boutiques but I think only a few. Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Sur La Table are some big brick and mortar retailers that carry the items in store. There are others too. Of course none will have the entire selection as the LC website, but you can always look on their sites to check if items are in stock at specific locations

The outlets usually carry a lot of colors and pieces that aren’t in their current catalog online, you can always find some pretty colors that have been discontinued, also check to see if they’re having a sale, who knows? it might influence your decisions if it’s good enough 😉

January 13, 2023 - Came to say exactly this. Long gone are the days of outlet stores selling slightly imperfect merchandise. They create low quality merchandise specifically for outlets. If Le Creuset outlets do it the old way, kudos to them.

I got an e-mail from Le Creuset that there is a 25% off sale "storewide" at the LC outlets this month. Can anyone confirm if it's truly the entire store? Because I'd love to pick up a bread oven for $75 off, but I don't want to drive an hour to the outlet to find out there are actually all kinds of items excluded...

It’s not everything in the store, only most items. I was in an outlet yesterday and asked about the bread oven specifically. They told me the bread oven was not part of the sale. 😕

These are from the Carlsbad, CA outer. Leilani & John were on today and they are both huge enablers! I found my 4th deep teal (Second Choix) plate and I caved and bought the pumpkin 🎃 pie pan in Meringue. I’ve been eyeing that for awhile. My little addict added a mini cocotte in matte navy and an egg holder in oyster - we’re vegan. 🌱 He just thought it was cute.

Love the pumpkin pie dish! Was it less than the FTT prices online?

Went to a official Le creuset outlet store today, and wanted to pick up a piece.

When i was about to buy it, the cashier said they sold 2nd Pick pieces and 1st pick

The second picks had broken surface, and the 1st picks was about 20% higher in price. Has anyone experienced this? I ended up leaving.

I think you misunderstood. The outlets sell primarily first quality pieces from the "Classic" line. They also sell some "Second Choix" pieces at an additional discount. Those pieces have cosmetic flaws that will not affect performance. They are also clearly marked. I have several first choice outlet pieces. I also have one "second choix". It was marked with an orange Le Creuset sticker on the pot. I spent a long time studying the pot for the damage. (It's a multipurpose pot). I finally found a small scratch on the underside of the helper handle. It disbelief even go through the first layer of enamel -- just the shine. The outlet isn't selling defective goods.

This is normal and not sketchy behavior. It’s highly transparent which items are which. I think in the US there are outlet malls where some things aren’t seconds they’re just manufactured entirely for the outlet in a cheaper way - basically companies making their own knock offs. LC isn’t doing that, they’re using the outlet as an outlet. The best thing is they can accept international returns when sig stores cannot/do not. In our area, outlet malls are very commonly frequented by resellers working in Asia so we get amazing deals on the LC they return locally from abroad. It’s where many of my international pieces came from. As long as it exists in the catalogue an outlet will process the return. They even have had special edition pots long after they sold out.
