I really hate to break it to you, but to repair that properly your looking at a very extensive repair. Those back cushions are sewn to that back panel. To fix it, the entire back, including cushions has to be removed from the frame then new leather has to be sewn to the cushions. If the damage wasn't as extensive I would say a thin sheet of plywood could be cut to the size of the top and upholstered and then fastened in place over top. But since the damage extends below the top, you need to replace that as well. You're gonna need a Half hide of leather ~$200 and the labor would probably easy run you $600+. Even then that depends on how the sofa was constructed. Do the arms need to come off to get to that back. Do the arms bolt to the frame and can be removed easily. What is needed to separate the back from the frame. Lots of things to consider Answer from zachismyname89 on reddit.com

r/upholstery on Reddit: Cost for Couch Repair?
September 18, 2024 -
Hi there! A dog I am looking after got lose from her kennel and attacked this couch whilst I was out. What would you estimate the cost to replace this top panel of leather and repair would be? The side piece is fully intact.
One other thing is, the corner piece was already chewed up which I think makes the repair trickier. How much would that affect the price? I’m in BC.
Thanks

As for re-upholstering a couch in leather, that would depend mostly on who y...
