these are the jeans that i wear. the difference between them is (supposedly) the stitch count, the thickness of the denim used, and the tags/labels used. The premiums are said to have a higher stitch count (which is unnoticeable to your average wearer), thicker denim, and the back Levis tag is made from real leather as opposed to a cheaper material for the non-premiums. Both the premium and non-premium are dyed the same and there is no color distinction. I regularly purchase and am quite satisfied with the non-premiums. Unless you are a stickler for a better stitch count I say go with the pair that costs less. The higher cost of the premiums just doesn't seem worth it to me, but everyone is different. Levi's 517's boot cut used to be nice, tough denim that lasted years. The more you wore them, the more comfortable they got. The denim they use now is thin crap. The ones I bought recently have a soft, 'designer jean' feel to them, and it's horrible. It just Ticks me off. More on reddit.com

I'm looking to get a pair of 517s. Since they're not available in my country, I need to test my luck and order online. I'm confused, however, since these 2 pairs seem to be exactly the same except they're named differently (ex. black vs welcome to the rodeo).
That said, is the color all there is to it? To illustrate, there are pairs where the color is evidently different (dark wash vs old western roads). Though for some pairs like the black one, I think it's just the back pocket which differs.
I'm also even more confused since they have different style numbers and one is just around USD70 while the other is USD98.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I finally realize why people constantly ask about jeans in this sub. Real denim subreddits are more dedicated to vintage finds or raw denim stuff, leading me back here.
So I've been wearing Wrangler cowboy cuts for a while now. I've worn the original fit and slim fit. Love 'em for the durability, but I found the Levi 527s and realized I was super into the flared-out bootcut as opposed to Wrangler's straighter bootcut.
Thing is, the 527s aren't cut quite right in the waist for me. Low-rise jeans and I ain't quite on the same page. So I found the 517 online, but can't find anywhere to try it on in person.
How does it compare in fit to the 501s or 527s? Or even to Wrangler's cowboy cut jeans?

Get the 517’s. They’ve changed the cut of them- they’ve always had a higher rise but now they’re slightly slimmer through the thigh than older models are. You can always have them tailored as well. I’ve wrongly been calling these 527’s but they are 517’s that I’ve had tailored to fit like 527’s. So to clarify they are 517’s. It’s an older pair but as I’ve said the newer cuts are being slimmed in the thigh. I have both 527’s and 517’s. The low rise isn’t for everyone so depending on what fits best, get the 517’s.
