App/program that automatically tracks which grocery store has the best price for an item?
I need an app that pulls data and compares grocery prices at multiple stores so I can see what an item costs at multiple stores in one shot. This would be hard to achieve because some stores like aldi aren't online and I would need to have stores like dollar general, aldi and save a lot in my base. Someone should really start a crowdsourcing app where everyone downloads it and logs grocery prices while they shop much like waze is a crowdsourced driving app. More on reddit.com
I look for markdown prices at my local market. Got a bunch of meat for $12 because the sell by date is tomorrow. Freeze it and it will last me over a month!
Protip: Some markets have "$__ off" stickers on their markdown meat. If you find those on products that are ALSO buy one get one free, you will get the second item free, and both $___ off coupons apply to the first item.
Translation: I on several occasions have gotten two $10 packs of meat, second one free, and each had a $3 off coupon (last day to sell). So, $20 in meat for $4.

I compared my grocery haul at an independent Toronto store to Loblaws and the savings are wild - Narcity
May 7, 2024 - All of that being said, I will absolutely be going back to Nosso Talho to take advantage of their excellent prices on meat and deli items, and I'll likely do the rest of my shopping for produce and snacks at Nations, which is an Asian grocery store in Stockyards that I think has some of the best prices in the city. If you're interested in trying out other independent grocery stores in Toronto, many on Reddit are sharing great places to try, particularly in light of the boycott of Loblaws and Loblaw-owned companies that some may currently be following for the month of May.
