Kailh Choc clicky switches are somewhat clicky, but not quite as loud as full-size MX switches, in my experience. It's more of a moderated, crisp sound without the spring "ping" if that makes sense. The switches are nice sounding on their own, but when installed on a board there will of course be other factors, such as the board/case construction, foam for dampening, etc. I'm typing on a home-built board now with a Corne-style case (PCB plates on the top and bottom) that uses no foam. If I use Choc Robin or Choc White switches, I can hear the switch click as well as the impact of the key cap when the key bottoms out, in both upper midrange and crisp treble. If I use Choc Brown switches, there's no switch click in the treble, but the key cap impact is still there, in the upper midrange. So the difference is not that large for me. I touch-type a bit more heavily than I should, so I guess I'd probably make the same noise with linear switches as well. Personally I would probably not bring the clicky switches to a shared office environment, but that's just me. I recommend you get one of the "experience packs" for the Kailh Choc switches, which has one of just about each type (with some exceptions) and figure out what works best on your particular board. Can it be both clicky AND silent? Seems like those ideas are in opposition. Rocker switch is tactile in that you physically move something, but it doesn’t make such a loud click. More on reddit.com
