MAXQDA

You can pretty much start coding in MAXQDA immediatelly. it’s straightforward, and coding itself is part of the analysis process, so you’ll figure out what you need as you go. I was able to jump in right away, though of course once I got familiar with shortcuts and the interface, i got faster. MAXQDA has a ton of tools, but honestly, you won’t need all of them for every project. if you know what you’re hoping to find in your data, it’s easy to start using the relevant tools for your questions. And yeah, MAXQDA is definitely suitable for analyzing around 180 job ads. I can imagine MAXDictio would be helpful for you because you can build dictionaries and run searches based on them and even autocode search hits. MAXQDA also offers many helpful (and free) webinars online, that’s how I first became comfortable with it (that, and their manual), and I’d recommend checking those out if you want a quick orientation. Im Doing QA for the first time. Im using Nvivo and it's kind of ass if you need to manage a lot of codes. I can see it being good for smaller datasets though. Its like mildly more useful than just doing coding by hand imo. I'm stuck using it for now but im disappointed that ut doesn't have some features I'd expect to be essential (like a simple hover to see the code!). Be sure to set up the back ups.
