Has anyone tried putting a futon on a bed frame (and particularly an Ikea frame)? If so how did it work out? Comfy, horrible??
I find a futon in best for my back and I can't be bothered with proper spring mattresses but I also want to have a nice double bed to climb into at the end of a long work day.
I'm thinking double size futon from Nitori combined with an Ikea bed frame might be a good combo... Not sure if anyone else has done the same thing?

I've done something similar for my daughters. For them it is totally sufficient. I've slept on it several times and it's OK in the short term. However, sleeping on it night after night is not the best. After a while I end up really missing a proper bed.
