Hi, this might be a stupid question, but I need to download office 365 2016 on OS 10.15.7.
Context: I am a windows user, however my dear mother uses mac. She has an older mac, that cannot update, but I need to get office 365 to work so she can do some aspects of her job. I have searched far and wide, but cannot find a way. Best way to do so? Many thanks.

Yes, I have an elderly relative in exactly the same situation. It was a pain in the ass, but what I had to do was to find out what the most recent version of Office that was supported by MacOS 10.15, and then I could download the appropriate installer from this page: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac You can then activate with the usual Office 365 subscription. Microsoft's version naming scheme is as bad as Apples, MS Office 365 has been on version "16" for 5 years now, and the later ones require newer OS's to run. EDIT: it looks like Office 16.66 is the last version that can run on Catalina, as per this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/upgrade-macos-to-continue-receiving-microsoft-365-and-office-for-mac-updates-16b8414f-08ec-4b24-8c91-10a918f649f8
