.min is the minified version, and it is primarily used while the website is being launched in order to reduce the load for the particular website.

Basically all the long variable names and function names are converted into shorter ones during the process of minifying. As consequence it would reduce the size of that particular file, so it would less the loading speed of the website.

On the other hand normal .js is the one which is used until the site being launched, meaning while the site in the mode of development/testing.

This will leave min/max null if there are no elements in the array. Will set min and max in one pass if the array has any elements. You could also extend Array with a range method using the above to allow reuse and improve on readability. See a working fiddle at http://jsfiddle.net/9C9fU/ More on stackoverflow.com

What is the difference between.min.js and .js?
Minified javascript is javascript that has been run through a process that removes insignificant whitespace and line breaks, and replaces symbol names with shorter ones. It's not that "the computer" can read it faster like that; it's because JS is meant to be used in the browser. With that in mind, it's a file you have to download. And reducing the size of the payload of your site is important. It was vastly more important in previous years, when bandwidth was much lower on average. So sites that used minified JS and CSS would load quicker than ones that did not, because the files that the site forced your browser to download were smaller. More on reddit.com

What is JavaScript Minification?
Minification, or minimization, of JavaScript source code is the process removing all characters that aren't required for proper execution. These unnecessary characters usually include formatting characters, like: whitespaces, linebreak characters, comments, and in some cases block delimeters and end-of-line characters. After minification is applied, JS code is supposed to keep its functionality.
