MIT Professional Certificate in Cybersecurity Program Review
MIT xPro Bootcamp
I am currently in the MIT xPro Professional Coding Bootcamp for Women...run as far as you can from it! I just started week 3 and the majority of students in this course are heavily overwhelmed and complaining like I have never seen before. For the most part, we are all beginners (me included). There is virtually no help available, you need to figure out everything on your own or ask peers (which, as a beginner, makes it nearly impossible to succeed), there are quiz questions that ask about content that is not covered, the teaching videos do not include all the instructions (again, for a beginner, this is pretty debilitating), foundational concepts were not covered in the beginning so we are hearing about and are expected to use all sorts of programming language specifics that we have no idea what and why they are, and, yes, there is an openly-stated expectation that you rely on Google and YouTube to figure out solutions. I have been a professional in teaching and learning for many, many years and also designed online coursework experiences but never seen anything THIS sloppy ever. No attempt to consider pedagogical principles. Luckily, my employer paid for it so I don't feel it as a financial loss but it is a disgrace to MIT. At this time, I would not recommend this course to anyone, especially given the price tag.

Any reviews on this program? I am already a management consulting at an IT company and want to transition into cyber. This is my plan.
I want to take this 6 months course that is offered by MIT to get an introductory view of the world of cyber security. Then I want to study and take the Security+ vs network+. Then finally use my past IT work experience, this 6 months course, and my new certifications into getting a cyber security role.
Any reviews on the MIT Program and any thoughts on my career plan?
