r/logitech on Reddit: MX Mechanical Bluetooth Pairing Issue?
October 9, 2024 -

I started having this issue a couple days ago without any idea why - there’s been no recent driver updates for the past month.

Anyway, as the title says my MX Mechanical keyboard seems to have a Bluetooth pairing issue. The “Easy Switch 1” will blink slowly until I access my computer’s Bluetooth settings and remove/re-pair it. I’m assuming that it’s a Bluetooth issue because when this happens, logi+ can’t detect the keyboard.

This repeats every time I turn the computer off/on, OR the computer enters into sleep mode. :( Any idea why this is occurring? Can I do anything to fix it? I’ve tried everything else (including resetting the keyboard) that I could find, and customer service isn’t being helpful.

Why are MX Mechanical Mini and MX Keys Mini different sizes?
The two keyboards have different switch types. Mechanical switches have a defined size which does not allow for smaller arrow keys as on MX Keys Mini but full size arrow keys. Having full size arrow keys adds a row on the right side of the keyboard.

Commenting here because no source I found was clear about it: to get the MX keys into bluetooth pairing mode, you have to HOLD the quick-switch key. It will be blinking when you just turn it on, that doesn't mean it's pairing.

Logitech MX Mechanical Wireless Keyboard Question? - MiSTer FPGA Forum
No reason to believe it wouldn't. A keyboard is a keyboard. It has to be connected by a Logitech Bolt USB receiver, apparently. I ordered assuming it'd work. Once a Bolt dongle is paired it just appears as a regular USB keyboard regardless of OS.

r/kde on Reddit: Can not connect Logitech MX Keys keyboard via Bluetooth
July 17, 2020 -

Hi,

I got myself MX Keys keyboard but I can not connect to it using Fedora 32 Plasma spin.

My steps:

  1. Open System Settings > Bluetooth > Devices > "+" (Plus sign to add new device)

  2. "MX Keys" device is shown in the "Bluetooth Device Wizzard" windw

  3. Click on it and click next

  4. "Connecting to MX Keys" progress is show for about 30 seconds

  5. "The setup of MX Keys has failed" is shown, with no other info and options to restart the process or close

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not even sure how to debug this since nothing is shown when I do journalctl -f -u bluetooth nor dmesg -w.

Thank you
