Hard disagree with others about their dislike for double breasted. They look amazing! Between the two you picked, I’d go with the grey only because suits look dumb with contrasting buttons. The white button on the navy suit stands out like a sore thumb.

Sounds like a dreadful combination. A lot of celebrities wear awful clothes for any number of reasons - much of the time it's simply because they are rich and famous and can afford not to care. If it's not something they're interested in, they don't have to bother with it. In the case of male British celebrities of a certain generation - think Ramsay but also the original Top Gear boys and other mainstays of 2000s television - the 'dad fashion' look of ill-fitting jackets, open shirts and jeans became something of a signature look because it projects the right image of an ordinary bloke who wouldn't be caught dead caring about something as feminine as his clothing or appearance. Rather ironic, as I'm sure it was all very carefully chosen - to say nothing of all the time they presumably spent in makeup...
