We are in desperate need of new mattresses for our adjustable bases. We have a split king and need twin XLs. We are considering Nectar and Purple, but weary to pull the trigger on either. I've seen nightmare stories about them both and good reviews as well. However, the better reviews are usually from newer customers. Is there anyone that has been an owner of either for multiple years and still happy?

Purple is a much higher quality mattress along with far superior customer service compared to Nectar, but that doesn't make the Purple a good choice for all sleepers as no mattress is. You would need to check it out to see if you find it comfortable and supportive, it has a very unique feel that is quite divisive in appeal. Good luck with your mattress selection.

Looking to upgrade to a comfortable queen size mattress. I’m stuck between getting the nectar original for $650 and the original purple mattress for $1150. I have a herniated disk and have lower back and hip pain, just looking to ease it. Any personal experience or recommendations?

Had a nectar before getting purple. I have a bad low back and particularly hip/si joint pain. Nectar was not good for my pain. I hurt a lot and just felt uncomfortable. Purple is best for me. I think we have the purple 3, but I find it well worth the money. I don’t have as much pain as before, and sleeping on anything else can throw my back out easily. We are all different but my step dad also got a purple for his bad back and loves it. Might be worth a trip in store to try some out.

Bought purple mattress had it for years but due mattress got dirty. Had to get rid of.
Got a Great deal on nectar mattress
Had it not even for 2 months yet. Not happy at all. With sleep experience at all . Waking up not refreshing at all.
Now I am regretting that I got rid of my old mattress.
I believe manufacturing process and material are different in both mattress.
Nectar excellent with marketing but manufacturing need work.
When sleeping certain parts going down not even unlike purple mattress.

The two beds have very little in common as far as construction goes, and that makes them feel totally different. Your Purple had a removable cover you could wash, so it's sad that this is a question after the fact. If you loved Purple, go back. Nothing else feels like it, although latex would be closer than Nectar or other memory foams.

So, I'm on the hunt for a new mattress. I've been researching brands for several days now, but I've found a lot of conflicting and/or potentially biased information. I've also looked at SLTD, but they don't have any information of OkiOki or DreamCloud. I'm dwelling between the following mattresses:
Purple Original - $1299 Queen
Nectar - $799 Queen
OkiEasy - $525 Queen
DreamCloud Hybrid - $999 Queen
Some additional information:
- Cost is a important factor for me - but not the only one. I don't care about brand name, so I'll most likely choose the cheaper brands if they can deliver quality that's close to more expensive brands.
- Side sleeper. Male, 6'3, 220lbs. Based on my research a Medium-Firm mattress is likely to be ideal.
- My preference is for hybrids because I like the comfort, but I also like a little bounce when, well... you know... Purple and Nectar are all foam (not hybrid), so I'm a bit unsure if it's going to impact this matter.

If you have access to a Sam's club or Costco, you can get a better value bed there. Ikea also has some of the best value beds in the space. Some folks love the Purple, but it's hardly a value at the inflated prices they charge. Nectar is a cheap Chinese made bed, save yourself money and order one off Amazon if that's what you want.

I have a purple 3 and am actually very happy with it. That said - I have concerns about you using the the original for side sleeping. The original might be too firm and it might be more comfortable to go up to the Plus if you can afford it. Edit : list of brands to avoid And as far as another Reddit user reported, an oki oki rep apparently confirmed they use fiberglass ( if that sort of thing bothers you) and another user made a claim /post about taking the fire sock off and found fiberglass inside.
