[Solved]

I'm fairly new to making websites, and just recently finished a basic work in progress version of my site, that i decided to upload to Neocities.

The problem is just that Neocities does not display the site correctly, it seems to ignore almost all styling, whether it is inline CSS, or in a separate file. I have double checked that all files are uploaded correctly.Here is a link with images of how the site looks locally, and how it looks when uploaded to Neocities.

Press CTRL + F5 to do a hard refresh, and double check all your files are the same. It looks almost identical to me, just the header is different.

When I view the site, it looks identical to the example you've provided, save that the main header is a yellow color instead of blue, and using the Consolas font. But the CSS file itself is using the yellow color and specifies Consolas that I see, not the blue one in your example. You may need to make sure the contents of your CSS file are the same as on your computer. Have you tried clearing your cache/hard refreshing?

So, Neocities is pretty commonly used by the CYOA (Create Your Own Adventure) community to host interactive CYOA documents. However, any I try to access just results in that blank white screen I mentioned. Since nobody else seems to be having problems accessing them, it appears to be an issue on my end. Anyone know what might be causing this problem?

If it matters, I'm using an Android phone to attempt viewing them, and I've not had issues doing so before.

Just the base site neocities or a specific site? if you haven't already I would definitely clear your browser cache.

If by "editor quirk" you mean "is this a false positive because the editor doesn't have synatx rules for CSS Grid", then yes, it appears to be an editor problem. Neocities uses Ace Editor, which doesn't support CSS Grid yet (see https://github.com/ajaxorg/ace/issues/4025), from what I can tell.

Assuming it lets you save your changes, I would ignore those errors - as long as the browser supports CSS Grid, it will work anyway. The CSS Grid spec is still in active development, though, so you might want to consider fallback rules.

As for alternatives, you might be able to approximate a grid layout with flexbox (which has fairly good support at this point). You may also find this question and answer useful, How (and why) to use display: table-cell (CSS), if styling your content as though it were table content is acceptable.

So i'm coding most of my website on an sepparated software, and then i upload everything on neocities.

But then when i uploaded it to my website, it was different, some things are not working properly (like the commission modal in the example), the side bar i created for the "about me" section is not showing, idk what happened, is this something with the platform?

Explaining the gif for those who aren't understanding: First page is the raw html file, directly from my pc, the second page is me opening the page on neocities, after uploading it to the dashboard, it has the exact same code (and i also updated the CSS too), but somehow it didn't work

Please someone help me solve this

first thing is to try doing a hard refresh. Ctrl+Shift+R, or Command+Shift+R if you're on Mac . next, let us know your url so we can take a look at your code and see what might be going wrong.

I tried to log back into my Neocities account a few minutes ago after having switched browsers, causing me to lose all my cookies, and found that I couldn't log in. I went to reset my password. The password reset link I was sent is apparently invalid, because every time I click on it, I'm redirected to the homepage and it gives me the error "Could not find a site with this username and token."

12/20 UPDATE: Turned out that Neocities got blocked in Taiwan (Where I live) since it got used for illegal contents, I'll move my website to Nekoweb or other hosts, thank you guys for comments.

The problem only happens on neocities when other websites works well, even my one of friends still can visit neocities, it's my internet problem or neocities got some issues?

Can you click on View certificate? That might give us some clues about the cause.
