April 1, 2019 - I got my first ever 59Fifty, it’s a low crown Phillies maroon alt cap with the new light-blue batterman on the back. I got it because the swirl P is actually very close to the one I had as a kid, rather than the “perfect” ones that most of the retro caps have.

May 31, 2024Anyone notice a size difference between the Regular and Low Profile 59Fifty?
I'm forced to order all caps online. I have a wool Cubs 59Fifty 7 1/4, local sports store had a handul of low profiles on-hand and was able to give 'em a shot. 7 1/8 seemed to fit, as did the 7 1/4. NOW I'm thinking of a Low Profile in 7 1/8. I was able to do the knee-pull trick to get the 7 1/4 to fit better, anyone know if this is possible with the new poly hats. Sorry for all the questions. I feel like that’s gonna be a 7 3/4. Low Profile hats, in my experience, run a bit small. I’d make sure you either try the hat on before buying or make sure you can return it if it doesn’t fit how you want. More on reddit.com

Similar experiences here. Unfortunately, a slight manufacturing variation in the head band sizing can mean much discomfort, especially if the pressure points are on your temples. I always buy one size, sometimes it fits loose (the way I prefer) and some fit tight, the circumference might be within 1/10 of a centimeter of each other, but the on-head difference is more than palpable. There are several commonly used tricks to enlarge a hat, use a hat jack, pulling on your knee cap, stuff a soccer ball in it, etc. Use these methods carefully of course. I do wish New Era makes a combination of 5950 fitted sizes but with elastic head bands similar to their 3930 hats, keeping that fitted look while accommodating for slight head size changes and manufacturing deviations. Regular 59fiftys seem to give me an extra 5 inches to my forehead. They fit everyone differently though. I personally like the low profiles more, they also come pre curved to a degree.
