I rewatched Jurassic World (2015). Can someone explain why people hate this movie?

The story is essentially a rehash of the first film. So it already loses points for that. Where as I do agree it has interesting elements within - the general cynicism of the real world leaking into the plot feels legit. People will always push to make money or squeeze as much out of it as possible and in order to do that the I-Rex is born. What’s ironic is that it mimics the entire concept of a Jurassic reboot. Both Jurassic world in the story and the studios who make the films we see are doing it for the same reasons. But I think that’s where the interesting elements end. I think whether Owen is a good character or not is up for debate. He’s definitely an action hero but is that really what the Jurassic park franchise is about? Even at their most heroic in the original trilogy Sam Neil / Goldblum etc were in a constant state of fear. The shoe horning of kids / divorce and Claire / Owen love interest is also ridiculously insufferable. In the original JP these elements do exist but they’re subtle nods and mentioned very briefly. In JW we are literally battered over the head with divorcing couples and failed ‘dates’. Parental themes have run through all of the Jurassic films but in Jurassic World it’s a classic writing failure of tell the audience what’s happening rather than show them.
