September 23, 2016 - I don’t have this same issue with either of two checking accounts OR as far as I can tell, from Amex credit cards - just two credit cards from Chase and they’ve recently “upgraded” their website and thus the interface for their downloads. Hey, I just had a quick question. I was looking at the status of my application and noticed that with the card it says Card (Null) anybody know what means? There's an Auth Number below so I hope there's no delay or anything.

I enrolled a few years ago, was approved in a day and it showed the last 4 digits of my card in that spot. A couple weeks ago, my girlfriend enrolled in person - everything went through fine. Approval still pending. I used my Amex card to pay (was there with her), and it also says Card (null). Auth number is there, says paid. I’m sure it has no baring on the process, but not sure why it’s there. Going on 12 days no approval

I got my first credit card a little over six months ago and noticed that I have been pre-approved for a credit limit increase of null. I am not sure what they mean by null. If there implying zero, than wouldn't that mean that I have not been approved for any increase? If so, why would the bank bother telling me that. My credit card is from RBC in Canada just incase that makes a difference.

My guess is that it is a database error. Null typically means “no value” in database language which is different than 0. You may have been approved for an increase and the database had an error pulling the real value.

Trying out Monarch after transitioning from Mint. I use my Visa card for all my day-to-day transactions but all the merchant names appear as Null on Monarch.

Support team says it’s an issue with the data provider and that I should use rules to fix the problem. I’m not sure that you can define a rule to properly identify/categorize a transaction without a vendor name.

Wonder if anyone else has or has had this problem and if there was an eventual resolution.

I think you need to force your issue with Monarch and say this is not a resolution, as you are forced to create a rule for EVERY transaction. Obviously the statement is coming in and they are failing to move the Original statement into the Merchant name. If the field is null, that means that all logic is failing at the interface level, as AT A MINIMUM DEFAULT, the Original statement should equal Merchant name. In the meantime, you could go against the "Original Statement" in the rules - but it's a tremendous amount of work, and if it weren't fixed for you - I'd look at Simplifi and see how it works there. Null means the absence of a value in a database. Seeing it on a banking screen is unusual, something is amiss. If it shows next time, get a screen shot and call it in.

You’re going to take longer to graduate if you let your statement balance record a $0 balance. You need to have a small balance left for statement date and afterwards, pay off balance. But showing NO balance is not showing any healthy utilization responsibilities.
