Hello all,
As thermal throttling and cooling are big topics of discussion I would like to share a free for personal use utility that I use to stress test laptop cooling performance/undervolts and my desktop overclocks/undervolts. It is called OCCT and it's current form it is a single executable that does not need to be installed. It incorporates separate CPU, GPU, and Combined CPU/GPU (called a PSU test). It also monitors temps, voltage, fan, power, frequencies all in a single pane design. It also includes a screen capture button for easy posting of results. You can also set it so that if it reaches a certain temperature to shut down the test.
I think this is the most easiest way to test for inexperienced folks new to computer gaming as well as tool to add to the arsenal for advanced users.
I actually run the Power test for 24 hours for any new system and for any overclocks or undervolts that I believe to be stable as a final test.
