How the hell do i change fan speed on my laptop??
If the fan does not have Pulse Width Modulation built in, it will not rotate at different speeds. Most 3-pin fan headers are NOT PWM fans. Most 4-pin fan headers are PWM fans. It would be unusual not to use PWM fans on a laptop but is possible. I suggest looking at Windows Power settings area Windows Power Plan Settings (Limited control) This adjusts the system's cooling policy, which can influence fan activity. Press Win + R, type powercfg.cpl, and hit Enter. Click "Change plan settings" for your active power plan. Click "Change advanced power settings". Expand "Processor power management" and then "System cooling policy". Change the setting for "On battery" and "Plugged in" from "Active" to "Passive" to potentially reduce fan noise during general use. I'd avoid using GCC and just use a general all purpose tool to reduce complexity and get a functional method of controlling the fan speeds. Windows itself or FanControl and start watching YouTube videos to learn more. More on reddit.com
