I sent a package contains $6800 worth of computers. UPS mangled the box. UPS has agreed to pay the claim, BUT pirateship.com just need to upload my documents since they are the ones that sold the label. They are refusing to do it for some reason and chat is the only way you can get ahold of them. They just keep giving me the same runaround stock answer. So I am out the money because of pirateship.com. They are cheap yes, but you get what you pay for apparently.

Whoa there. Hold up. I had an item sent through pirate ship that was damaged during shipping. Valued at $3200, it took about 2 weeks, some documents submitted but pirate ship worked with me on it and got me my money back. What are they asking you for? What is the runaround discourse you’re having with them?

So my account has been flagged for review by security and they're asking for a photo of me holding my ID. Has anyone encountered this problem using this website? I don't feel safe giving them a photo of my face and ID when i've already given them my bank infromation. For the record all I've done is made an account and I haven't been able to purchase anything.
Edit: Ok so I sent them the photo of me and my ID and nothing has happened so far and I was able to make my purchase so they seem pretty legit
2nd Edit (August 25, 2025): Still nothing has happened to my account. Pirateship seems to be legit

I've been using them since 2018 and LOVE them. Just with UPS I've saved several thousands of dollars shipping stuff internationally. As for the photo ID thing - I wouldn't worry about it. They are a legit site.

It's reputable! They just are getting you the kinds of bulk discounts that larger businesses use, while using the same businesses you would usually use to mail things. It still ships via UPS and USPS and FedEx and stuff - actual reputable companies.

Gee I can print labels (cheaper) in my PJS and not have to leave the house. I work PT at a Pack and Ship and I don't buy my ecommerce labels there. I use whoever is cheapest.

They have a different business model. Our model is service. So if your customers value you handling administration like claims etc maybe the P&SG perhaps. If your customer just wants the cheapest price...we cant compete on just pure price. Lot more I can say about it, but im not posting it publicly.
