As a postie of 20+ years, it certainly doesn't get any easier. I've found that doing stretches after work really helps. I spend about 5-10 minutes doing them. Also, cut back on how much you're doing. Don't do overtime or work your rest day. I know it's hard to turn down, especially when you need the money, but sometimes you have to listen to your body and give it a break. My company decided to transition from postman to bruno, mainly to cut costs, but also because of the new policy they implemented. Bruno is not that bad, but you dont have workspaces, so you will have to create a repo where you store your collections and environments, then track everything via GIT and PRs, to keep the master branch clean and up to date. I'd prefer postman, ive been using it for a few years now, but meh, we adapt. More on reddit.com

It largely depends on your DO but across the board it's hard work, low pay and poorly managed. So many people leave in the first few weeks because they thought they liked walking and very quickly realised that what they actually like is strolling. If you can cope with the strain on your feet and knees the physical side of it gets easier. Eventually it becomes pleasant, especially in the nice weather. You almost definitely won't be on your own round. As a new starter you'll be a reserve and get pushed from pillar to post all the time, thrown on whatever random round doesn't currently have cover, never know what your days off will be. I'm rarely on the same round two days on the bounce. The old timers will guard their rounds with their lives so opportunity to sign on to your own is sparse. Chap in my DO was a reserve for five years before being able to get his own round. Postman Pat you will not be. That said I actually love the job, it's just a shame it's so poorly paid and managed. I'm actively looking for other work despite enjoying it because it's just not worth it. More on reddit.com
