There is no actual annual fee on either card; however, you need to be an Amazon Prime member to have the Chase Amazon Prime Visa. The Chase Amazon Prime Visa earns 5% on Amazon purchases while the Chase Amazon Visa only earns 3%. Alternatively, you can do what I do which is to have the Affinity FCU Visa Signature that earns 5% on Amazon and bookstores, though not Whole Foods, with no Amazon Prime membership required. November 28, 2023 - I waited to re-activate my prime until after I applied for the card, and now the card shown is the blue one in both Chase and the Amazon card dashboard. It shows 5% cashback (and as such I've gotten 5% cashback on ~$1k in purchases already). What you say seems right, when added to a Prime account and in the checkout it shows as Prime Visa, same as my fiance's and both screens show the blue card, not the silver.

Prime Visa vs Amazon Store Card: Which Actually Saves More?
The Amazon Store Card explicitly states "no annual fee." However, similar to the Prime Visa, the ability to earn cash back is contingent upon an active Amazon Prime membership. Without Prime, the earning rate drops. Therefore, the annual cost of a Prime membership is still a necessary consideration to unlock the card's full reward potential.

r/CreditCards on Reddit: What should I get between the Amazon Prime Visa and the Prime Store Card?
May 5, 2024 -

I'm trying to compare the two cards. I already have better cards that I use for everyday purchases and will not need to use these cards outside Amazon. I also don't need the financing from the Prime Store Card. As far as I can tell, the only difference left is the bonus rewards, from which the Amazon Prime Visa offers 10% back and the Prime Store Card offers 5-15% back which leaves me confused as to which one of those is the better deal. With these two money back deals which is better?
