Rsr is useful for a game that you can run full screen 720p, it will upscale it pretty well to 1080p So something like fallout 4, goes from like 30fps medium 1080p to 60 fps high 720p but looks like 1080p with some minor afmf and rsr artifacts, but it's more playable imo. The difference is astounding.
You can set game to 1080p, GPU will do in-driver upscaling to your display's native resolution with little to no loss of FPS.
Set to 1440p with everything on 'very high' my FPS averages around 48
Set to 1080p with RSR upscaling to 1440p with everything on 'very high' (visually about the same if not better with Radeon image sharpening) my FPS averages around 80.

for nvidia users, we have "Image scaling" inside control panel. Have not tried it yet, forgot it existed. Game works fine, but i will try it tonight to check if this will, atleast partially, solve the texture shimmering. edit: it does help with the AA shimmering, but for me it feels odd it keeps my gpu usage at 50-60% instead of the usual 90% tho (fps capped at 80, idk why 80. i like 80)

Rsr is only enabled if your game graphic settings are lower than your system graphics settings then it will upscale it to 1080 depending on your system but if u have the same settings for monitor snd game settings than it’s basically off

You mean the driver level RSR? The only time you should turn that on is if FSR2 or FSR3 isn't available in a game. It's better than settings your game to play at just 1080p on a 1440p or 4k screen. But it's a last resort if you have a high resolution monitor your GPU can't push. I also found it really annoying to use. You have to turn it on in the AMD settings, then launch the game at like a lower resolution, and then undo it all when starting another game I believe. Unless you can set up a profile to only act like this for some games. These days 95% of games launch with FSR3 support, so there is no almost real reason to use RSR anymore. Maybe I'd use it for Indiana Jones at 1440p if I had my 6600xt still. But that's getting FSR3 eventually. Or if I had a 4k TV and played on there with a 6600xt.

So I think you’re missing the biggest piece here. The driver level stuff is very crude and low level right now. It’s stripped fsr1 (We’re at 3.1) and Frame Gen. If any game you’re playing supports it, always use fsr as your first choice. These new unreal 5 games are going to be very hard to run, but if senua has fsr then putting that on performance mode and setting everything to medium should get you 60fps with your rig.

The one that's driver based? I tried upscaling from 1080p to 1440p with my 7700xt in gta and it looked pretty 💩. obviously this being gta even native 1440p 2x msaa looks bad in some scenarios. (The edges look bad) In games where there's upscaling built in they look good and I can't complain

Is the game running in borderless mode? It has to be in True Fullscreen or it won't work. Also check the specific game profiles for the game you are trying to run it on. You can't use RSR and Radeon Image Sharpening at the same time, if RIS is on it will override and ignore RSR settings.

Mine does this too in some games. I've found it helps to open Adrenaline, toggle off RSR, and then toggle it back on before starting the game.

Has anyone been able to successfully activate Radeon Super Resolution or does the game even support it? Any chance for a step by step how-to?
I'm running a 1440p monitor and would like the PC to just upscale to it from 1080p.
In AMD software at Global Graphics, enabling Radeon Super Resolution does not work for me when I check AMD software stating that upscaling is inactive. I am at full screen, 1080p settings in-game.
But ultimately, would like to run Radeon Super Resolution only for ToF, so hoping for assistance on that end as well. During "Add a Game" option, to which exe or file do I point to? Is it tof_launcher.exe?
