I had a black widow V2 before and I ended up trading it for a cheap keyboard because the razer green switches were to loud. So are the purple and optical switches that loud? I mean i want to play games at night without my parents hearing the keyboard lol.

I just wanted to add to this for future readers. The purple switches had the most amazing feedback and were the best sounding switches I have used in a long time. However, I had to return mine because my room is too large and echoes so it amplifies the sound. I really wish I could have kept this keyboard but it wouldn't be fair to my wife while she tries to sleep lol.

I'm going to choose a Razer keyboard but I am considering which one I should choose. I prefer huntsman v2 linear (red switch) because I need quiet sound. However, huntsman v3 has more technology but I'm not sure about the sound of "Razer Analog Optical Switch Gen-2". Did someone own v3 and test its sound ? Is v3 louder than v2 ? At least I want it to be more quiet than tactile switch (brown switch)

They sell the huntsman V3 TKL at my local Best Buy. I messed with it and I was thinking about picking one up today. The "Razer Analog Optical Switch Gen-2" is not clicky at all, its a smooth up / down motion and seemed pretty quiet to me, but I was in a crowded Best Buy at the time. One thing though, the Optical switch actuation point can be adjusted, so you could in theory make the key work with a very light touch. I also just picked up a Tartarus pro, which has the same (or similar) switches and that is pretty quiet to my ears as well.
