Are there any tools available to help detect fake pay stubs?
Can a fake pay stub pass as legitimate if it looks real?
What information should be included in a real pay stub?
Looking for something legit, easy to use, and accepted by landlords or banks. Any recommendations?
Location: Wisconsin
Hello,
I in have a friend who received a personal loan from a lender that someone works at. The person who works there made a fake check stub to get the loan approved for my friend. In the end, the employee receives money out of the loan my friend received.
I’ve been thinking of reporting this but wonder how would I go about this? Also, would my friend be liable for receiving the loan? Or would this fall on the employee who made the fake pay stubs and approved the loan?
The employee does shady business and shouldn’t be working there but my friend legitimately needed a loan and the offer was made by the employee.
All insight is appreciated.
I’m thinking of reporting because the employee has been shady for the longest and know they shouldn’t be doing this. On the other hand, I don’t want to get my friend reprimanded because of him being in need.
Ever wondered how tenants make fake paystubs?

You can forge every part of your paystubs and bank statements.
The "edits" 100% match the original font and spacing. So it's is pretty much impossible to catch these changes with the naked eye.

TLDR: Does this paystub look fake to you?
Have a unit listed on zillow rental marketplace and I’ve gotten several fake looking pay stubs from other applicants, so I’m being more cautious than usual.
This applicant has a 730+ credit score and clean background but the pay stubs look off to me. Can’t find the company online and also the salary info looks odd.
She is moving from out of state, said on the app it was for 1 person but then said it would be herself and 2 children when I asked her directly how many people would be living there. I don’t care that she has kids, it’s a 2/2.5, but I find it odd that the kids weren’t on the application.
I asked for add’l proof of income and am waiting to hear back from her.
Am I being too paranoid or does this look/sound off to you as well?
I’m starting to see more questionable paystubs. We send everything through screening then the screening company requests for leasing office to complete voi. I see some companies being used that are no longer in business with recent pay stubs. How would you handle this situation? We are also reviving more fake cashier’s checks. I have received two in the last four months. I wish my company would report these people who are giving fake checks because it’s a crime.
I’m in need of a paystub generator that can automatically calculate both state and federal taxes, as well as other common deductions (like Social Security, Medicare, etc.). Ideally, it should be easy to use, accurate, and provide all the necessary details to ensure compliance. I’m looking for something that saves time and eliminates the need for manual calculations.
Any suggestions for tools that can handle this?
Do pay stub generators actually work? I have my own lawn care services i run and i make enough to rent a property im looking at but they want paystubs which i dont have, what do i do? When you go online they have services to create paystubs but are those trust worthy? Does anyone know any that theyve used themselves?
Most landlords just ask for proof of income but don’t actually verify it with your employer. If you’re slightly under the required income, just adjust your pay stub before submitting it.
If they do verify, they usually just call your employer to confirm employment not income. Worst case, have a friend answer the call and back you up.
Landlords inflate rent prices and stack income requirements, so why not level the playing field?
