I have been looking at cases, and some videos and redditors recommended phone rebel. So are their cases good compared to other cases?
I know it may sound ridiculous but I wonder how well these cases hold up from drops if it’ll cause scratches or not and if it’s worth buying
Videos
I has a Mous Clarity (clear case) for an iPhone 12 Pro and it held up all these years. I bought the 15 Pro this year and I bought the new Mous Clarity for it. I saw the EAP video for the drop test and remembered he makes cases. I like the look of it more than the Mous case.
I was debating on returning my Mous case and buying a clear Rebel 5. Problem is, I don’t see many people talking about them in a positive light. In particular I’m seeing lots of cracked clear cases in this sub. Along with many people not recommending the cases.
Are they really that bad?
I bought their iPhone 12 case years ago and loved it. But I’ve heard their new cases have been lacking. Anybody tried them? Alternatives in the carbon fiber vibe?
Firstly, yes I know the iPhone Air was designed to be used cases less and in the main, I do…
However, for when I do mountain biking or trips abroad, I like the security of a case.
For my last phone, I got the Phone Rebel case and it was easily the best case I’ve ever owned; ergonomic, comfortable and protective.
Does anyone know if they are making a case for the Air series, as I’m yet to see one on their website?
I used their case on my iPhone 12P for four years, but I’ve heard their recent few cases have been lackluster. Anybody tried these? Alternatives? Big fan of the carbon fiber.
I got both the regular Gen 5 and the Frosted. The frosted is really a beautiful case with so much to love. The only reason I'll be returning it is because the grips on the side offer basically no grip compared to the aramid version. It's weird. They look the same. They feel nothing alike. Very slick by comparison. I'm a grip guy so it's not going to work for me.
As for this aramid one. I have had a ton of cases over the years because I like to try them all. This may be the most thoughtfully designed and best case I've ever put on any device I've ever owned.
The fit of the case is so good. It offers basically zero pull, even around the power and volume buttons. The grips on the sides feel perfect in hand and offer a great deal of confidence, but the phone is still very easy to get in and out of pockets. Swiping from all sides is incredible because of the tapering but there's still a ton of screen protection from the "claws" on the corners. Pinky comfort (if you care about it, which a lot of people do) is second to none. The buttons are perfect and incredibly tactile. The aramid on the back is soft but offers nice texture.
The Phone Rebel people seemingly left nothing to chance and thought about every last detail to create a truly great phone case that is worth every penny. 10/10 highly recommended.
Well now I know what the hype is about. This is a fantastic looking and feeling phone case. Feels like it could take a serious drop. I also ordered the frosted one to see what I think. I'll probably only keep one. But damn I'm impressed.
Got my first ever Phone Rebel case the Flex Series and still not sure what I think of it. I’ve never used any of my phones without a case so a pretty big adjustment with the Flex series. I‘ve been using a Casetify Ultra Impact case and the sides have somewhat of a tacky feel which is great. Does installing the Vinyl strips on the sides help with the slickness or make it worse?
The magnets are great on this case much better than my Casetify nothing to complain about here!
A couple of other things do bother me some though:
-
Personally I can see I prefer to have the buttons raised like on most cases.
-
I use my pinky and ring finger to hold the phone on calls and the bumper has a sharp edge which starts to hurt after a few minute.
I haven’t decided if I’ll keep the Flex case or not don’t know if I can look past the few things that bother me but love the strong magnets.
I have an iPhone 12 so guess we don’t know if the Gen 3 cases will ever be available for my phone. The photos on their website seem to indicate they added raised buttons and maybe have changed the bumpers. This might be more to my liking but possibly never available for me.
Btw you're in the wrong subreddit. Here is the new one: https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoneRebelCases/
The vinyl strips do add a bit more grip but it's very hard to install. Sadly, the gen 3 case won't be available for the iPhone 12s, but gen 2 is available and still are very solid cases. The rebel series are sold out temporarily but the crystal ones are in stock. The corners on the flex series cases are more aggressive compared to gen 2 and 3 since they removed the tpu bumpers.
Gosh I thought i was posting in that subreddit am I allowed to try to move it?
I bought my first PhoneRebel case (Rebel Gen 4) for my iPhone 14 Pro Max last October and so far, the case has been very good and has held up quite well without any blemishes (luckily, I only accidentally dropped the iPhone 3-4 times and for all the times, it is at my studio apartment, mostly being 50-90 cm drops). The case has also protected my phone from these small drops as well. I am curious what your experience has been with the Rebel series cases?
I just got the Phone Rebel Gen6 case and holy shit this case is amazing! If anyone is in the market for a great case, definitely check it out! 10/10
How does the case feel in hand? I have tried the Speck Grip Case, and the Mous Limitless 5.0, and both were too slippery and not enough grip for me. How is the grip on the Rebel Gen 4?
