Reclaimed Wood Table : 5 Steps (with Pictures) - Instructables
November 9, 2017 - Marks will show on the table, but to me that is okay. You may want to adjust your wood choice if you like something different. To make this table I used three pieces of reclaimed Douglas Fir.
Just finished my first ever round table build out of reclaimed timber I was able to get. Feel free to ask any questions.
Looks amazing. Posts like deserve all the love. It’s a fabulous looking piece of furniture made of reclaimed lumber of all things - opposed to perfectly milled lumber. This is what wood working is all about (imo) More on reddit.com

Help addressing reclaimed wood table top
What's the story with this table? It does not look well made. The panel joints are gappy and have wood filler, said joints are failing, and there is the warping as well. It also has edge banding yet appears to be solid wood. This is fundamentally flawed construction as the cross-grain glueup does not permit seasonal expansion and contraction of the wood top. I would bet that it was not fastened to the legs in a way that permits movement either, which is likely the cause of the warping. As for the finish, this looks like a very thick application of cheap polyurethane. Those dents are significant, and I'm not claiming any finish would withstand them entirely, but a quality finish would mostly deform with the damage, whereas this has cracked and flaked considerably. The white water stains are a reality of many clear wood finishes. Higher quality products will resist them better, but ultimately I would categorize this as 'things that you can't expect wood furniture to withstand'. Chemical stripping is really your only option. You can make generous use of a carbide scraper to get the bulk of that thick varnish off, but stripper is needed for the dents and divots and so forth. This is just an issue with any film finish on a distressed piece, especially softwood. If you do strip it, I would consider a simple oil finish. Easy to repair, and in keeping with the appearance. It is not a very durable finish and will require some care and maintenance, but would age far more gracefully. More on reddit.com
I made this table from reclaimed 100yr old barn wood!
Did you account for wood movement in the design and construction of this table? I ask, because it looks very much like you glued all the pieces together (including the breadboards), then screwed it to some 2x4s and put some legs on it. If that's really how it was made, that table is pretty likely to rip itself apart in the span of a few years... Edit: Here's a possibly better link on wood movement in tabletops... May 15, 2017 - With the right amount of clamping using cauls and just wood glue this won't create too much tension? Edit: When I received the boards I placed them vertically against a room temperature inner wall at a slight angle, with none of the boards touching (all next to each other) ... After months of reading up and slowly accumulating various tools, I've started assembling the table top.

At the very least, it will give you an idea as to what you need to learn. ... As a beginner, I'm pretty sure you could make something with the kreg system. How to Make a Reclaimed Wood Table | DoItYourself.com
June 26, 2023 - We based this tutorial off of a project that creates a small dining table or desk, so you can adjust the wood sizes as needed depending on what kind of table you’re looking to make. Keep in mind that you should always take safety precautions when working with wood and power tools. Use safety goggles, work gloves, and a dust mask to protect yourself throughout the entirety of a project. Reclaimed wood typically isn’t DIY-ready when you bring it home.
