1. Determine the amount after taxes.

2. To calculate the amount before taxes, use the following formula:

   amount before tax = amount after tax / (1 + 5% + 9.975%).

To calculate your GST (Goods and Services Tax) and QST (Quebec Sales Tax), simply follow these steps:

1. Determine the price before taxes.

2. Calculate the tax amount.

   • For GST: multiply the pre-tax price by 5%.

   • For QST: multiply the pre-tax price by 9.975%.
