Is buying the Rodecaster Pro worth it?
I can’t speak to what the Zoom can do, but I know I love my RODEcaster and never desire for anything else. I was using a Behringer mixer before a flood ruined it and I have some incredible fans that started a GoFundMe which afforded me all new equipment. I’m a regular working guy with a family and I never truly had the time or patience to sit down with my Behringer and figure it out. I would YouTube what the dials did and the buttons etc but I never ever got it. I never could grasp it and more power to everyone that is savvy enough to rock that. The RODEcaster was a gift from heaven because it literally does everything I couldn’t do. It mixed the audio for me to sound absolutely perfect and I was so happy with the sound gate. RODEcaster took my production to another level with truly, and I know i sound like a fanboy here, but truly perfect professional sound. Of course people can manipulate the dials and levels and get perfect sound with cheaper equipment and by all means, hats off to you, but for me I was able to afford it and the convenience is priceless. Rodecaster pro 2… is it the way to go?
Hey, Podcast Producer at Buzzsprout here! I had the RØDECaster Pro and recently switched to the RØDECaster Duo, which is pretty much the baby version of the Pro 2. The default settings on the Pro 2 & Duo are different from the original, which is why I think people frowned upon it at first. Once you get the settings corrected, it is far superior to the RØDECaster Pro! I wish I had invested in one sooner haha More on reddit.com

Hi. Long story short...I'm starting a podcast. I received the Rodecaster Duo as a gift and was considering selling it. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it for a podcast where I will be talking to the camera and occasionally doing interviews through Zoom or Riverside.fm.
Any thoughts?

You can litterally start a podcast with your phone as a microphone. If you have this mic, that’s more than enough, but I’m mostly saying this for whoever finds this topic and have the same question without owing this kind of equipment.

So it’s pretty pricy for me ($600) but has everything I need when it comes to recording capabilities. I’m not the most savvy when it comes to editing audio yet either so I think it could help me there as well. I just am not sure if it’s worth the price tag. Any advice?

I love my Rodecaster. I didn’t need it. I managed to do everything it does with a variety of other tools. But I enjoy it and it makes recording podcasts simpler, easier, and faster.
