I didn’t find the plush soft to be soft at all (side sleeper). It’s subjective I guess but to me plush soft is like what you experience with a memory foam type mattress (your body sinks into it and it forms to your body). I thought it’d be a similar feel but higher quality based on how it’s described but I didn’t have the same experience with Saatva. Currently waiting on a return/pickup and a bit nervous about it given how much money it was Answer from Ms_AppleButter on reddit.com

A Euro pillow top (also called a Euro top), by contrast, has the padding built in underneath the top cover and is flush with the mattress edges, so it doesn’t look like an extra layer sitting on top of the mattress. Our Saatva Classic, Saatva HD, and Solaire mattresses all feature a 3” Euro pillow top for added cushioning. A Split King mattress has the exact same dimensions as a king mattress, but made up of two separate Twin XL mattresses.

Is Saatva a good mattress?
The Saatva is indeed a good mattress - it is a supportive and comfortable innerspring mattress that features some high-quality components. That being said, it is a better fit for back sleepers, stomach sleepers, and those who prefer to sleep on top of their mattress. Side sleepers and those who prefer to sink further into their mattress might want to look elsewhere.

r/Mattress on Reddit: How soft is the Saatva Classic Plush Soft?
March 15, 2022 -

I am 5-9, 170 lb, back and side sleeper, no stomach.

I already tried the Luxury Firm, but I also wanted to test the Firm, which I am currently. The Luxury Firm was good, but I wasn't too sure. I thought I'd try the Firm and see if I could sleep only on my back, but I keep rolling to my side, plus the Firm is still too hard even if I was strictly a back sleeper.

I heard from the Youtuber RizKnows that the Plush Soft was good for combo sleepers, but others have stated that it is only good for strict side sleepers.

So if you have tried the Plush Soft, do you think that a combo back/side sleeper of my stats would do fine on it?

Saatva Classic mattress review: Knock-out comfort with a luxury hotel feel
I rate the luxury firm version ... find it firmer, and heavier people might find it softer. We recommend luxury firm for most people. However, the Saatva Classic is also available in two other firmness levels: Plush Soft (3 out of 10) and Firm (8 out of 10).... Saatva’s flagship mattress is still the best option for most sleepers, but there’s one group of people who should give it a major swerve

Saatva Classic 14.5" Plush Soft - Our Trusted Analysis | GoodBed
In our review of this mattress, we tested it on an adjustable base to look for any adverse effects as the head and foot are elevated, and to see how well it conforms to the contours of the base both with and without the weight of a sleeper. Overall, we found the Saatva Classic Plush Soft 14.5" to have very poor adjustable base compatibility.

r/Mattress on Reddit: First night on my Saatva Classic plush soft 11.5” Cal King
July 5, 2020 -

After loads of research, I settled on the Saatva, was going to go with the luxury firm 14.5” thankfully I used a tape measure to figure out the 11.5 would be better as the 14.5 would require a ladder. I’m 6’3” 240 side sleeper. I originally ordered the luxury firm as the “mixed use” but next day wished I had ordered the plush soft, as i really started to pay attention that I did spend 99% of my sleep time on my side. I called Saatva and no problem, they made the change to my order.

My old mattress was a Westin Heavenly bed I had about 15 years, was great for many years, but well beyond expiration. I would wake up with shoulder and hip pain, which was mostly due to the mattress age and springs digging in (i also started to think because perhaps I always got too firm a mattress for being a strict side sleeper as well). I’d typically toss and turn all night, get up two to three times to stretch and if I woke up after 4am would just get up as lying in bed was uncomfortable. For the first time, in a long time, my alarm clock woke me up this morning. My body was rested, my mind was rested and I had zero aches or pains.

I was worried about the plush soft being too soft and it’s not (as noted above i thought i always preferred a firmer mattress), I don’t feel like I sink, which was my biggest concern, it’s just a soft top with good support if that makes sense. I’ll know for sure in a couple weeks once my mattress breaks in fully, but again it’s not starting out really sinking soft, just comfy soft. I can tell you my shoulders appreciate it the most, I have very broad shoulders and would always feel the pressure as I slept, I just always thought it was a result of being a bigger guy with broad shoulders.

I ordered on 9/9 and it arrived yesterday 9/30, delivery was great and delivery guys said they don’t get many calls on returns, when they do it’s usually to change out for firmer or softer, not to return. I figure if I do end up changing for the luxury firm the $99 delivery fee (they charge that for returns or change outs) is kind of a trial / rental cost. Though at this point I don’t see any kind of exchange or return happening.

The quality of the mattress is on par with the heavenly bed (which I paid $4k for 15 years ago), I can sit on the side of the bed no problem and the materials are top notch.

If you want something more akin to a traditional mattress, then I suggest the Saatva. I almost spent over twice as much on an Aireloom, glad I didn’t. I can say the Saatva is very, very close to the feel of the Aireloom. Obviously time will tell, but I figure even if I need a new one in 5 years I’m still ahead of the game financially.

I’ll update again in 30 days, but if you’re a side sleeper, so far the plush is great and can’t stress enough it’s not too soft. I can also say the 11.5 is fine with box spring. If you consider the 14.5 I recommend measuring. (Edit to correct spell check errors)

Saatva Mattress Review 2026: Ratings From the Test Lab
While hybrid mattresses tend to sleep cool, the Saatva Classic’s construction may help it sleep even cooler than many other hybrid models. While all the firmness options may help promote a cooler night’s sleep, the Plush Soft version has more conforming that could lead to slightly more heat retention.

Saatva Classic Mattress Review 2025: Our Honest Review
August 20, 2025 - When we tried the plush soft, it didn't have a sinking feel. We actually felt supported by the additional padding that conforms to the body. It's ideal for side sleepers who need a mattress that cradles their body in this position. However, the luxury firm is Saatva's best-seller (and what a few MH editors have), as it mimics a high-end hotel mattress that has a balance between strong support and cushiony comfort. As one editor who has been testing a king-size luxury firm Classic says, "This mattress is the best I've ever tried.
