I'd like to know if this a feature as well. I highly doubt it unless it were a picture of a face or animal. Then you could tag it as a person and search by that person's face if that makes sense. More on reddit.com

It will now show an error saying something went wrong and it was fully removed on February 7, 2025. You can't not enable it again with Search by Image or Legacy Image Search. You can't get it back you will still have to use Google Lens.

Lens is useless. When I come across an image, I want to know where it came from, so I could credit the original author of the image. With the old reverse image search, it usually worked back to the original author. With the lens I've tried, I always got 473,748,234 different "similar" images that aren't exactly the same as the original image. When I tried "exact" match in Lens, I still got 473,748,234 different "similar" images and no easy way to connect the image I have with the original author. Almost as if Google is advocating image theft by hiding original creator source. Is there a non-Google alternative that works? Tineye doesn't always work as some image sites don't play nice with Tineye.

at what point all image search engines just stopped working? google lens doesn't even designed for that, just for suggesting things to buy. I found an extention to access old style google image search but it now sucks. it can suggest max 3 sites, if even 1. doesn't even show the site with original image, url of which that I pasted in. bing finds similar photos like lens does. yandex and tineye don't work at all, I tried many different images but got zero results every time. tried a buch of no name engines that I could find, also nothing. is there anything that can do reverse image search? I often need to state source of images that I use and it just turned into hell. all that tecnical progress in last years and for what? to completely screw an important search feachure that was working good for years?

What are you looking for, exactly? I can recommend a few. For duplicates of your image - copyseeker.net I feel like there's no image this thing can't find. But it won't find pictures that look similar to what you want to find, mostly just identical ones. For people - pimeyes.com or lenso.ai I won't get into details because I feel like you're not looking for faces anyway For landmarks - Google is pretty much the best since it shows you the exact location. But I find lenso.ai good for that as well Google and Yandex IMO work fine with similar pictures, but if you want something extra then copyseeker or lenso is my first choice when they don't work. And then TinEye is pretty much useless to me.

I have a recent photo that has something very distinct in it. I am Trying to find an older photo I have of that same item but I have so many photos I can't find it and I don't remember when I took the photo. I was wondering if I could search Google photos on my phone to try to find a match to the current photo. Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance!

Anyone have or find any updates on this? Old thread I know… but I grow and have hundreds of orchids and cannot find a photo I want to use for sale on my Etsy page of my Trichoglottis Geminata and I don’t want to use Flickr or anything similar for fear of copyright infringement etc Lmk if anyone has any updates, thanks in advance!!!
