I’m doing a new paver patio and I need a new fire pit. Saw this one today at my local Costco. Has anyone had any experience with this smokeless fire pit?

Don’t get these unless it has a heat deflector, or else it will just be a cylinder of heat sent straight up into the air. I went with the Turbro brand on Amazon, the pit and the heat deflector accessory is right around $200. We have used it heavily the last year at home and camping and it’s been perfect

Homeowners Are Loving This Costco Fire Pit. Here's How To Make It Work In Your Outdoor Space - Outdoor Guide
April 8, 2025 - "I'm going to say there is a small amount of smoke if you burn pine, but if you burn dry hardwood it's [a] very small amount of smoke," writes reviewer Zoie on Costco's website, raving that you "can't go wrong with a Solo." Start with fire starters at the base and add larger logs around it, then one thin piece of firewood over the top of the starter, allowing airflow to circulate properly. Egg cartons or dryer lint can act as fire starters – even a bag of chips can work if your tinder is wet. Overloading the pit can hinder the efficiency of its smokeless design.

April 20, 2025 - While it's not feasible to completely cut out smoke, this upgraded unit allows you to enjoy your fire pit without as much of it blowing in and around yourself and your family or guests. One reviewer even noted it was a "Great firepit for patio and/or camping! We have both the Solo Yukon (big stove) and the Solo Bonfire (medium size). They are awesome, as the technology built into them is the key to a virtually smokeless fire."

I have this Tiki pit as well as an 8" and have been around plenty in the middle. This is great for large groups, large fires, but is largely impractical for personal use unless you do big bonfires. We've actually started using our 8" smokeless because we can do a fire for a few hours and it goes out quickly when we're ready to be done. That being said, this isn't a "knock-off" it's a high quality smokeless fire pit that's a competitor like Breeo.

December 7, 2022 - But it is a great fire pit. It does spread less heat than more open designs but we only have fires if it’s going to be at least 50F so it’s fine for what we use it for. We mainly use it for the atmosphere and to cook over it. ... Solostove has all sorts of accessories direct on their website and nonstop “sales”. Sales in quotes since it’s nonstop. Combo those with a chase or Amex offer of you might make out better than the Costco price.
