We got the non split king. It died in a month or two. Worst sleep we have both ever gotten. I take turns on the floor with a Korean bed right now it's so bad. It was wonderful at the start. Customer service has been great. King koil and distributor. Wish it worked out. I do think the advertising vs what you actually get in the app is a quite misleading... the app doesn't do much it looks like it's in beta or something compared to the advertised thing. You want to be sure that the mattresses you choose are mostly flat all the way through, any sort of curve at the edges can exaggerate the gap. Flat top hybrids (Sealy Silver Chill or Beautyrest Hybrid are solid options) or Tempur-Pedics which are better designed for split king setups. I would also recommend getting King Purple sheets because they are made from a very stretchy material - you'd still want two TwinXL (Split King) Mattress protectors but a one-piece king Purple sheet can go over an entire split king visually unifying the sides and still allowing for independent adjustability due to their elasticity. We are looking to get a split king adjustable bed. My fiance moves a lot in his sleep and sometimes snores and I’m a light sleeper, and I cannot do memory foam it’s way too firm for me so we want the split king. I’ve looked up countless brands, every brand seems pretty good and then I see threads saying it’s the worst mattress/company of all time. I’m going insane trying to decide on one.
Sleep number is the only one that I can’t generally find terrible reviews for - most people seem to like those beds for a long time or so it seems. Main downside being how pricey it is. Anyone have thoughts on sleep number split king or any other brand recommendations?

Sleep number is an air mattress with some foam on top. You are giving up a lot of support and I believe comfort, to gain the adjustability. I wouldn’t care too much about the automatic snore control either. It would be pretty unnerving for your or your partner’s bed to start moving without notice. You certainly can find a soft twinXL mattress for your side without the unnecessary and frankly undesirable technology. If you have a local non-chain mattress store or a factory showroom you and your partner should be able to check out appropriate options. Any mattress whether innerspring, latex, memory or hybrid that is comfortable for you should work. You should be careful to reasonably match the heights of your individual mattresses.
