r/Entrepreneur on Reddit: Zero Experience - GoDaddy vs SquareSpace for Website
April 30, 2023 -

I founded a nonprofit and am in the process of creating everything. I am at the point that I need some sort of website so I can direct donors and potential contract clients to it. I need something very basic to discuss who we are, have a page with our board listed, a page for donation solicitation, and pages for our offered services.

Some of our services are fee-for-service, so potentially having ability to allow for booking and payments would be useful, but not necessarily required as we can manually complete that process by the interested party calling or emailing.

I have no experience designing a website and am doing this on my own.

With this in mind, is there a better platform to use between Go Daddy or SquareSpace? Or, is there a better alternative to these?

Thank you!

GoDaddy vs. Squarespace 2025: Only One Offers Diverse Features for Any Business
July 21, 2025 - Our testing found that GoDaddy was less expensive but offered fewer features and functionality. Still, it’s a good way to supplement your presence on platforms, especially for bloggers, YouTubers, and other content creators. Squarespace is better for individuals and small businesses.

Zero Experience - GoDaddy vs SquareSpace for Website
I'd go with Durable. I used it when I needed a quick professional site for a small charity. It built everything automatically and then I just added our details and PayPal link. You can always upgrade later once you get traction. More on reddit.com

Shopify, go-daddy, squarespace? Which is the best way to intergrate E commerce into my website?
Shopify and Squarespace aren't tools that you integrate into a website, they're a complete solution. So Squarespace is a content management system (CMS) for building websites and you can add e-commerce as an option. What you would do is to take your current website content and styles and put it into Squarespace and then add commerce into Squarespace. Shopify has a slightly different emphasis in that it's primarily an e-commerce platform and you can add content to it. And in terms of your current domain on Go Daddy, what you do is to change what are called the DNS settings to point to where the website is, whether it's Shopify or Squarespace (Shopify and Squarespace have details about this). Have you invested much time and expense into the current website? More on reddit.com

May 20, 2025 - GoDaddy is an affordable web hosting solution for a business but lacks the necessary features in the free trial version to test the website builder. Despite Squarespace’s basic web hosting plan costing four times the price of GoDaddy’s starter plan, the 14-day free trial period allows a business to thoroughly test the product because it contains many of the features needed to build a website.
