r/OnePiece on Reddit: Why big mom didn’t recognise Stussy ?
July 16, 2025 -

I don't understand why Big Mom didn't make even one remark about Stussy at the tea party.

The most obvious reason is that she bears a striking resemblance to the Stussy she spent 6 years with as part of the Rocks crew. But what shocks me most is Big Mom's interest in science to create artificial giants and acquire the Germa cloning technique that was the whole point of the tea party.

Stussy must certainly have been the Rocks' scientist, given that she was part of the MADS group, certainly the most powerful scientific entity that ever existed, and ESPECIALLY that she created a clone of herself. I mean, why was Big Mom never interested or didn’t even questioned Stussy’s appearance ?

One Piece: How Strong Is Stussy?
February 3, 2023 - At some point, she met Vegapunk and this eventually led to her cloning and the creation of the Stussy that the fans see now. With her past having been well established in the story already, Oda also went out of his way to reveal some of her abilities to the fans. One of her most unique powers is a lipstick that makes use of Sea Stone. Not many fighters in the One Piece world make use of this weapon despite it being tremendously useful against Devil Fruit users.

r/OnePiece on Reddit: Stussy character development is amazing.
July 1, 2024 -

Egghead is an arc about what it means to be a human. About human contradictions. We saw this through vegapunk, saturn, lucci and kizaru. Also with a lesser degree kuma ams stussy.

Stussy’s job is to serve vegapunk. But it seems that her intelligence made her condemn herself and consider herself a robot. In kuma flashback we saw her say something along that lines and vegapunk stopped her and told her that she is a real human.

And again when stella died. She started thinking that she has no purpose. Before that she talked with kaku and wanted to save him because of their days together. Even though it goes against stella.

Edison made sure to tell her that this contradiction is what makes her a human. She keep convincing herself that she only exists for the sake of VP which isn’t really true. It is like a paradox. Her humanity is what makes consider herself a tool. While the truth is that VP considers her an ally.

Stussy is a tertiary character. but her mini character arc is so meaningful. It is reflective of egghead themes and One Piece. She parallels characters like Ace, Kaido and katakuri.

I hope she gets a good closure to her arc.
