Just a note about the viral video, it was presented an a somewhat ambiguous way by RT (the Russian government channel) as an official UN event, while it's basically a Syrian government (technically by the Permanent Mission of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations) press conference taking place in the UN building.
The journalists shown here is also a RT contributor. It doesn't mean that what she says is wrong, but it very much align with official Syrian/Russian communication.
I don't really have hard numbers about it, but to me it seems a lot of people are suspicious about these types of news, for example on reddit there's always some comments that are suspicious of RT as a source (like mine here). The propaganda war is pretty transparent for the most part (the case you showed is a bit of an exception, because they managed to pass it as neutral).
